Created by perfumer Shelley Waddington, Civet Extrait de Parfum evokes this scenario: as the sun sets over the dense tropical forest, civet cats emerge cautiously from the groves. Beneath a carpet of blooming narcotic flowers, a smattering of coffee berries sprouts on the ground. The humid air is heavy with musky aromas penetrating every crevice, but the musky odor of civets dominates; their marked territory challenges you to enter at your own risk. Zoologist Civet pays homage to the age-old ingredient, civet, as well as the chypre perfumes of times gone by – perfumes that refused to be intimidated by raw, seductive, animalistic musks. Civet is a moody and complex brew entwined in mystery. It opens with a spicy floral accord, crossed by dark coffee tones. It slowly moves forward, revealing base notes of leather, musk and vanilla that combine with the signature civet musk to create a bewilderingly sophisticated scent with the promise of a sultry nocturnal rendezvous.
