The Florentine Iris, the undisputed star of the fragrance, reveals itself in a delightfully feminine expression. The story is intertwined with Caterina de' Medici, who skillfully wore perfumes on her gloves and body to avoid the odors of others, which was common at that time. This practice was devised by Renato Bianco, also known as René le Florentin, her personal and trusted perfumer who followed her to France after her marriage. Bianco not only created various fragrances for her, but also invented innovative ways to wear perfume, including the famous "scented pomegranate"
