FILIPPO SORCINELLI Contre Bombarde 32 Extrait de Parfum 50 ml The bombard is a reed register, generally present in the pedal board of the organ with the sizes of 8, 16 or 32 feet (the latter, however, is called counter-bombard). Typically French in origin, its resonators are made up of inverted wooden pyramids. In French organ building, the bombard, together with the trumpet and the clarone, constitutes the so-called batterie d'anches. To produce powerful and ringing sounds, these registers require considerable air pressure. The bombard produces a sound similar to that of the trombone register, from which it differs for a more marked body, determined by the presence of the double (sometimes even triple) reed and the tubes.
