Martina Gebhardt is a German natural cosmetics house born from the vision of its founder, who has been active in the industry for nearly forty years and is recognized as a leading figure in European organic cosmetics. The production is based at the Wessobrunn monastery in southern Bavaria: a place that is not just an address, but an intention — to restore the slowness and rigor that belong to skin care. In 2010, Martina Gebhardt was the first house in the world to convert its entire range to Demeter certification, the biodynamic standard that goes beyond conventional organic, recognizing soil and plants as a living organism to be respected at every stage of the supply chain. At the heart of the method is also spagyrics, the alchemical art of extraction that derives concentrated essences from plants and pure mineral salts from their plant remains, returning the complexity of the whole plant to the formula. The recipes follow the principle of less is more: few selected ingredients, without synthetic raw materials, packaged in opal glass bottles to preserve the integrity of the oils over time.
