Van Cleef & Arpels

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris in 1906, when Alfred Van Cleef and the Arpels brothers — two families with deep roots in the precious stone trade — opened their first boutique at number 22 Place Vendôme, an address that the Maison has never abandoned. A high jewelry house, it has distinguished itself from the beginning with a patented setting technique — the Mystery Setting — in which the metal disappears from view, allowing the stones to float in pure light. This same obsession with material and formal perfection has guided the Maison's entry into the world of perfumery since the 1970s: compositions that treat essences with the same precision reserved for diamonds.

The Van Cleef & Arpels selection at Papique

The fourteen catalog titles mainly belong to the Collection Extraordinaire, the line dedicated to connoisseurs: fragrances built around a single noble ingredient — white musk, crystalline patchouli, sandalwood, iris, rare roses — crafted with balanced and never redundant olfactory architectures. These are perfumes designed for those who desire a recognizable identity without mass effects: each bottle contains a raw material treated with the same care with which the Maison selects its gems. To navigate the selection, it is useful to start from the olfactory family and the season of use: woody and amber notes suit colder temperatures, while floral and citrus notes accompany the light.

We invite you to explore the selection with the same attention that the Maison reserves for its creations: each fragrance deserves to be discovered in the order that resonates with you the most.
