Zadig & Voltaire

Founded in Paris in 1997 by Thierry Gillier, Zadig & Voltaire takes its name from an 18th-century philosophical novel by Voltaire — Zadig, or Destiny — and makes it the manifesto of an aesthetic based on optimism, freedom, and the rejection of conventions. The brand does not belong to either academic luxury or commercial fashion: it inhabits an intermediate space where cashmere dialogues with leather, Parisian rigor is cracked by rock, and the masculine meets the feminine without resolving into one or the other. The fragrances, developed since 2016 in collaboration with Beauté Prestige International — the fragrance division of the Shiseido group — encapsulate the same tension between opposites that defines the entire house.

The Zadig & Voltaire selection at Papique

The thirty-one references in the catalog cover the entire olfactory range offered by the brand: eau de parfum and eau de toilette available for women, men, and in gender-neutral formulas, accompanied by body formats and gift sets. Those approaching the world of Zadig for the first time will find fragrances built on woody, musky, and spicy accords, with a recognizable sensory signature — never shy, never excessive. Those already familiar with the brand can explore the variations and lesser-known formats, often the most interesting for those seeking something beyond the more common references.
