Truefitt & Hill

Founded in London in 1805 by William Francis Truefitt — barber to the British Royal Court during the reign of King George III — Truefitt & Hill is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest barbershop in the world. Its current location is at 71 St. James's Street, in the heart of the most elegant London, just a short walk from the clubs and tailors that define the canon of British male taste. In 1935, with the acquisition of the business of Edwin S. Hill & Co., the name we know today was born. Over two centuries of daily practice have shaped a vision of male grooming based on artisanal precision, traditional formulas, and rigorously selected essences. The brand is, at the same time, a barbershop, a perfumery, and a cosmetics house: three souls that coexist in every bottle.

The Truefitt & Hill selection on Papique

The fifty-four items in the catalog cover the entire ritual of male grooming: from preparation to shaving — creams, soaps, pre-shave oils — to aftershaves and soothing balms, as well as colognes and perfumes inspired by natural motifs and English traditions, along with shampoos, tonics, styling products, and body and bath items. Those looking for an entry point can start with the fragrance category, where each line carries a name that evokes a geography or a moment in British history. Those who already know the brand will find the continuity of formulas that have remained unchanged over time, alongside more contemporary offerings that respect its spirit.
